What Is Elderberry Warrior Tea?

Elderberry Warrior Tea is a loose leaf herbal tea built on dried elderberry — immune & cold defense, blended and packed at our Virginia farm-based apothecary. There is no tea leaf in it and no caffeine; every ingredient in the tin is a whole botanical you can see. Because dried elderberries are dense, this tea is simmered rather than steeped — ten to fifteen minutes at a gentle simmer is what opens the berry up and gives you the full color, body and flavor it is capable of.

Meet Our Elderberry Warrior Tea

A powerful first-line immune blend. Dried elderberry and elderflower work synergistically with echinacea root, rosehips, ginger, thyme, and peppermint. Your go-to at the first sign of a cold or flu.

Why We Simmer Elderberry

Elderberry is not a steeping herb. The dried berries are dense, and a few minutes in hot water barely touches them — you get color without much else. A true simmer of ten to fifteen minutes pulls the berry open and gives you the deep, tart, full-bodied cup elderberry is known for. It is the single most important thing you can do with this tea, and it is why the instruction appears on the front of the tin rather than buried on the back.

Immune & Cold Defense: Deep and berry-forward with a savory herbal middle from the thyme, a warming ginger lift, and a clean peppermint finish. The cup brews a rich garnet-purple. It takes honey beautifully and is just as good with a squeeze of lemon.

Elderberry Warrior Tea Ingredients

Every ingredient in our Elderberry Warrior Tea is there for a reason. Here is the full list, exactly as it appears on the label:

  • Elderberry (Sambucus nigra fruit) – The heart of the blend — deep, tart, anthocyanin-rich berries.
  • Elderflower (Sambucus nigra flos) – Delicate and floral, traditionally paired with the berry.
  • Rosehips (Rosa canina) – Bright and tangy, a classic source of vitamin C.
  • Echinacea Root (Echinacea purpurea) – The traditional first-sign-of-a-cold botanical.
  • Ginger Root (Zingiber officinale) – Warming and gently spicy.
  • Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) – Savory and herbaceous, long used in cold-season teas.
  • Peppermint (Mentha x piperita) – A cooling, clean finish.

Our Virginia Farm-Based Apothecary Approach

+

Serene Tree Apothecary is a Virginia farm-based herbal apothecary. We blend and bottle in small batches, we label plainly, and we put the warnings on the front of the tea rather than hiding them on the back. If something in a formula needs care — a cycling window, a medication interaction, an age limit — you will find it stated in full above.

What Makes Our Elderberry Warrior Tea Different?

+
  • Simmered, not steeped – the instruction is on the front of the tin, not buried on the back, because it is the difference between a real cup and a pale one.
  • Whole loose botanicals – you can see the elderberries, elderflower, rosehips and cut echinacea root. Nothing is powdered or bagged.
  • Elderberry and elderflower together – most immune teas use one or the other. We use both, as the traditional pairing intends.
  • Blended in small batches in Virginia – at our own farm-based apothecary, not contract-packed at volume.

Why Choose Serene Tree Apothecary Elderberry Warrior Tea?

+
  • A Virginia farm-based apothecary blending and bottling in small batches
  • Full label transparency – complete ingredients, directions, warnings and shelf life published on the page, not just on the jar
  • Warnings stated plainly – cycling windows, medication interactions and age limits appear in full rather than in small print
  • Whole botanicals chosen for what they do, not for what they cost
  • Products designed to work together as a range rather than compete with each other

An Immune Tea Built the Slow Way, on a Virginia Farm

Whole Botanicals, Nothing Ground Down

Warrior Tea is loose leaf on purpose. You can see the elderberries, the elderflower, the rosehips and the cut echinacea root in the tin — nothing is powdered, dusted or hidden in a bag. It brews a little slower and it is worth it.

A Closer Look at the Flavor

Elderberry Warrior Tea FAQ

Why does Elderberry Warrior Tea have to be simmered?

+

Dried elderberries are dense and do not release much into water at steeping temperature. Simmering for a minimum of ten minutes is what extracts the berry properly. Steeping alone will give you a pale, thin cup. Bring the water and tea to a gentle simmer together, hold it there for 10–15 minutes, then take it off the heat and let it sit covered for another five.

What does Warrior Tea taste like?

+

Tart berry first, then a savory herbal note from the thyme, warmth from the ginger, and a cool peppermint finish. It is not a sweet tea on its own — most people add a spoonful of honey.

How often can I drink it?

+

One to three cups daily at the first sign of illness. Because it contains echinacea, it is not meant for continuous use — after eight consecutive weeks, take a one-week break before resuming.

Is it caffeine free?

+

Yes. There is no tea leaf in the blend at all, so you can drink it late in the evening without it affecting sleep.

Who should not drink this tea?

+

It is not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and the echinacea makes it unsuitable for people with autoimmune conditions such as lupus, multiple sclerosis or rheumatoid arthritis. If you take immunosuppressant medication, speak to your healthcare provider first. Not for children under 12 without healthcare provider guidance.

How many cups are in a tin?

+

One tablespoon makes two cups. The 1.7 oz tin gives you roughly 16–20 tablespoons and the 4 oz roughly 38–45, so the large tin comfortably covers a full cold season.

How should I store it?

+

Cool, dry, out of sunlight, and sealed between uses. Sealed it keeps for 12 months; once opened, use it within about 6 months for best flavor.

Can I make it as iced tea?

+

You can, but Warrior is built to be drunk warm. If you want an elderberry tea for over ice, our Bloom Tea is the one designed for it.
