What Is Elderberry Fortress Tincture?

Elderberry Fortress Tincture is a concentrated alcohol extraction of elderberry and supporting botanicals, made in small batches at our Virginia farm-based apothecary and bottled in 2 fl oz amber glass with a graduated dropper. A tincture gives you the botanicals in a measured dose you can take in water, juice or tea in under a minute — no brewing, no simmering and no straining. The alcohol both extracts the constituents and preserves them, which is why a sealed bottle keeps for about two years.

Meet Our Elderberry Fortress Tincture

High-potency immune tincture. Elderberry anthocyanins + echinacea immune activation + rosehips for vitamin C + ginger for bioavailability. Alcohol extraction deactivates elderberry glycosides — no simmering required. Use at first sign of illness.

Alcohol Does What the Stove Does

Raw elderberry contains glycosides that need to be dealt with before the berry is safe to take — with tea, that is what the ten-minute simmer is for. In a tincture, the alcohol extraction handles it. That is why Fortress needs no preparation at all: drops into water and you are done.

Immune Defense Tincture: Sharp and warming. Tart elderberry up front, an earthy echinacea middle and a ginger burn on the finish. Most people take it in a little water, juice or tea rather than straight.

Elderberry Fortress Tincture Ingredients

Every ingredient in our Elderberry Fortress Tincture is there for a reason. Here is the full list, exactly as it appears on the label:

  • Elderberry (Sambucus nigra fruit) – Anthocyanin-rich, the base of the extract.
  • Echinacea Root (Echinacea purpurea) – The traditional first-sign-of-illness botanical.
  • Rosehips (Rosa canina) – A classic source of vitamin C.
  • Ginger Root (Zingiber officinale) – Warming, and aids absorption.
  • Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) – Long used in cold-season preparations.
  • Grain Alcohol (60%) (menstruum) – The solvent that pulls the constituents out and preserves them.
  • Distilled Water (menstruum) – Balances the extraction.

Our Virginia Farm-Based Apothecary Approach

+

Serene Tree Apothecary is a Virginia farm-based herbal apothecary. We blend and bottle in small batches, we label plainly, and we put the warnings on the front of the tincture rather than hiding them on the back. If something in a formula needs care — a cycling window, a medication interaction, an age limit — you will find it stated in full above.

What Makes Our Elderberry Fortress Tincture Different?

+
  • No simmering required – the alcohol extraction does the job the stove does for dried berries.
  • 60% ABV – the strongest extraction of our three elderberry tinctures.
  • Amber glass, graduated dropper – light degrades an extract, and 30 drops should mean 30 drops.
  • Cycling stated plainly – eight weeks on, one week off, because of the echinacea. It is on the label, not in the small print.

Why Choose Serene Tree Apothecary Elderberry Fortress Tincture?

+
  • A Virginia farm-based apothecary blending and bottling in small batches
  • Full label transparency – complete ingredients, directions, warnings and shelf life published on the page, not just on the jar
  • Warnings stated plainly – cycling windows, medication interactions and age limits appear in full rather than in small print
  • Whole botanicals chosen for what they do, not for what they cost
  • Products designed to work together as a range rather than compete with each other

Why an Alcohol Extraction, and Why 60%

Made in Small Batches in Virginia

Every batch is extracted, pressed and bottled at our Virginia farm-based apothecary into amber glass with a graduated dropper. Amber glass because light is the enemy of a good extract, and a graduated dropper because 30 drops should mean 30 drops.

Elderberry Fortress Tincture FAQ

How is a tincture different from the tea?

+

Concentration and convenience. A tincture is an alcohol extraction, so it is far more concentrated per milliliter than a cup of tea, and it needs no simmering or straining. If you want a ritual, drink the tea. If you want it fast, use the tincture.

How much should I take?

+

At the first sign of illness, 1–3ml (30–60 drops) in water, juice or tea, two to three times daily. For everyday preventive use, 1ml (30 drops) once daily.

Do I need to simmer it like the tea?

+

No. The alcohol extraction has already deactivated the glycosides that make simmering necessary with dried berries. Shake the bottle, measure your drops and take it.

How much alcohol is in it?

+

It is a 60% ABV grain alcohol extraction — the strongest of our three elderberry tinctures. It is not suitable for children, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for anyone avoiding alcohol.

How long can I take it for?

+

Up to eight consecutive weeks, then take a minimum one-week break before resuming. The echinacea is the reason for the cycling.

Who should not take it?

+

Anyone with an autoimmune condition such as lupus, multiple sclerosis or rheumatoid arthritis, because of the echinacea. Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding. Speak to your healthcare provider first if you take immunosuppressant medication.

How many doses are in a bottle?

+

A 2 fl oz (60ml) bottle holds roughly 60 one-milliliter servings, so about three weeks at the acute dose or two months at the daily preventive dose.

How should I store it?

+

Cool and dark, away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not refrigerate. Sealed or opened it keeps for around two years — the alcohol is the preservative.
