Jasmine Green Tea is green tea scented with jasmine blossoms, one of the oldest and best-loved flavored teas in the world. Ours is organic loose leaf green tea with real jasmine flowers: light-bodied and smooth, with a sweet floral aroma that fills the room while it steeps. It contains gentle caffeine and is lovely hot or iced.
- Size: 1 oz of loose leaf tea.
- Ingredients: Organic green tea (Camellia sinensis) and organic jasmine blossoms.
- Caffeine: Contains caffeine, roughly 20–45 mg per 8 oz cup.

What Is Jasmine Tea?
Jasmine tea is a scented tea: green tea leaves are layered with fresh jasmine blossoms, which open in the evening and release their fragrance into the leaf. The tradition comes from southern China, especially Fujian province, where jasmine tea has been made for centuries. The tea underneath is usually green tea, as ours is, though white, oolong and black teas are also scented with jasmine.
Because the flavor comes from real flowers, not added flavoring, good jasmine tea tastes floral and sweet rather than perfumey, with the fresh, gentle character of green tea underneath.
Meet Our Jasmine Green Tea
Open the bag and the jasmine is the first thing you notice: sweet, bright and floral. Brewed, it pours a pale yellow-green. The cup is light-bodied and smooth, with the soft vegetal notes of green tea under the jasmine and a clean finish. It is floral without being heavy, which makes it easy to drink plain, any time of day. Packed to order in a 1 oz size.
How To Brew Jasmine Green Tea
Hot: jasmine green tea likes cooler water. Heat water to 170–180°F, or let boiling water rest for 2 to 3 minutes. Use 1 to 2 teaspoons per 8 oz and steep 2 to 3 minutes, then strain. Water that is too hot or a steep that is too long turns green tea bitter and flattens the jasmine.
Re-steeping: the same leaves will give a second, lighter cup; add about 30 seconds to the steep.
Iced: cold brew 2 tablespoons in 32 oz of cold water in the fridge for 6 to 8 hours, then strain. Cold brewing brings out the jasmine and keeps the cup smooth and sweet, with no bitterness.
Does Jasmine Tea Have Caffeine?
Yes. Jasmine green tea gets its caffeine from the green tea leaves; the jasmine blossoms add none. A typical 8 oz cup has roughly 20–45 mg of caffeine, less than black tea and far less than coffee. The exact amount depends on how much leaf you use and how long you steep it. If you want a floral cup with no caffeine at all, try one of our caffeine-free herbal teas.
